This song, "In the Next Life" was part of Kim Petras' Halloween mixtape titled Turn Off the Light Volume 1, which was released originally in 2018, with a re-release in 2019 with another album attached to it.

I like this song because it sounds good, as well as having verses in German. When I heard this for the first time I was in my junior year of high school, and I was in German 4, so having music from an artist I was already listening to have German in it was so fun for me.

The German lyrics at first intrigued me, because I actually understood the majority of it--only a few words I didn't recognize. The link has translations, but I I directly translated it in my own head when I listened.

I know a lot of people think German is a very angry language as a whole, even though the only examples they have are angry people speaking German. I think this song does a good job of showing the German language in a more tame way. The words used are not very tame themselves, as they relate to death and more spooky themes.
