This song, that shares the same name with the album, "Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land" is very somewhat a political song. The whole album is very political, but this song is more about generational issues and how some people feel that their lineage is more important than the now.

The very first line is "Our ancestors had to fight to survive" so already from the start it's about family ties and heritage. Even the title is reminiscent of these ideals, but I feel like it can be taken more political than the lyrics of this song. A lot of the type of language in this song is about dealing with your heritage and that it's okay that you don't conform to what they do.

The pre-chorus is: You don't have to be like everybody else /You don't have to fit into the norm/ You are not here to conform / I am here to take a look inside myself / Recognize that I could be the eye, the eye of the storm" These lines are about breaking away from generational issues or expectations that are placed upon someone by their family.

What I find interesting is that she says "we are now living in seminal age". We're basically not living in an age that is made for us--we are simply preparing for another age and have to navigate this era.

There's not much more to say about this song, but I like it. It came out in 2021, during when the world was kind of falling apart.
